Role Description

Role Description Also known as: Graphic Designers, UX/UI Designers, Product Designers

Designers at Dev Launchers are integral members of our Design Department, taking on either focused or broadly scoped design roles to meet organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

While specific responsibilities may vary according to design specialization, all designers share the following core responsibilities:

Shared Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating designs, assets, or interfaces in collaboration with internal cross-functional teams.

  • Leveraging and contributing to our design system and component library to maintain consistency.

  • Regularly attending the weekly Design Department Collaboration (Sundays at 11:00 am CST).

  • Participating in cross-departmental collaboration sessions (typically 1 hour/week, with rotating schedules).

  • Ensuring WCAG AA compliance through correct usage of components and patterns, including additional verification prior to development hand-off.

  • Producing discovery documentation for design initiatives.

  • Collaborating and coordinating with the Research Team on usability and user testing.

  • Actively participating in reviews and internal design feedback sessions.

  • Adhering to internal best practices for design components, wireframes, and prototypes.

  • Providing regular asynchronous updates on progress and blockers via Discord.

  • Participating in retrospective sessions to foster continuous improvement.

Role-Specific Responsibilities

Product Designer:

  • Conducting end-to-end product design, including user flows, interaction design, and high-fidelity prototypes.

  • Aligning product vision with stakeholder requirements and user needs.

  • Collaborating closely with Product and Development teams to ensure feasibility and alignment.

Graphic Designer:

  • Creating visually engaging graphics and branding materials.

  • Supporting marketing, event, and promotional initiatives.

  • Ensuring visual consistency across digital and print assets.

UX/UI Designer:

  • Developing user-centric interfaces and experiences that enhance usability.

  • Conducting wireframing, prototyping, and iterative design based on user feedback.

  • Collaborating closely with Product and Research teams to implement findings from usability tests and user studies.

Team-Specific Responsibilities

Universal Design System:

  • Developing and refining design components and architecture to support Product Team requirements.

  • Creating comprehensive component documentation and facilitating effective handoff to Development teams.

IdeaSpace:

  • Creating intuitive designs specifically tailored to support innovation and ideation sessions.

  • Facilitating user experience improvements within the IdeaSpace platform.
